Swartz Creek grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning of the early game and added four in the third and two in the fourth to end the game after five innings.

Hailey Mills was on the mound, striking out two and allowing eight hits, two runs and three walks. Anna Schutte and Jayna Clark had Flushing’s only two hits of the game.

In the nightcap, Swartz Creek scored seven in the first, one in the second and four in the fourth. Flushing scored its only two runs in the third.

Mills threw 3.2 innings to strike out one and gave up four hits, five runs and a walk. Clark gave up four hits and seven runs in just 0.1 innings.

Schutte was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Haley Beaudry and Abbey Gordon each added a hit.

Flushing split a pair of games with New Lothrop, 12-4, 2-15 last Thursday.

The Raiders opened the early game with a pair of runs in the first, four in the second, three in the third and three in the fifth. New Lothrop scored three in the fourth and one in the seventh. Flushing outhit New Lothrop 15-8.

Schutte was 4-for-4 with two RBI and four runs. Addisen Wagner was also 4-for-4 with a pair of runs and two RBI. Madison McKnight was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Savanah Miller was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Clark and Mills added a hit and run each.

Flushing scored its only two runs of the nightcap in the first inning, while New Lothrop scored three in the first, seven in the second, three in the third and second in the fourth.

Clark gave up 10 hits and 10 runs and struck out one over two innings. Mills struck out one and allowed seven hits and five runs.

Beaudry was 2-for-3 with a run, Wagner added a hit and a run and Clark added a hit and an RBI. Mills had one hit.

Flushing 3-13, hosts Owosso today and Kearsley Monday.
