FLUSHING – The Rotary Club of Flushing is proud to present its Annual Beer Tent and Raffle Fundraiser on June 22-23 in Riverview Park near downtown Flushing.

Held in conjunction with Flushing SummerFest, the Beer Tent will be open from 6-11:30 p.m. on both nights. The tent will feature a selection of draft beers available for purchase, and a cover charge for admission is $5 per person. No one under 21 will be admitted and event security will be provided.

The Raffle drawing will be held at 9 p.m. on June 23. A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded, along with $500 second prize, $250 third prize, two $150 prizes, three $100 prizes and four $50 prize winners. Contest entrants do not have to be present to win.

Raffle tickets are $10 per ticket and are available from the Flushing Rotary Club, P.O. Box 377, Flushing MI 48433, or from Flushing Rotary Club members. Tickets will also be sold at a Rotary table at the entrance of Bueche’s Food World in the weeks preceding the event, and are also available at the Flushing Chamber of Commerce, 105 E. Main St.

Also back by popular demand is the rock band Rachelle Rae & the Banned, which will perform on both nights from 8-11 p.m. Rachelle Rae & The Banned have shared stages from Las Vegas to Boston with the likes of Cheap Trick, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult and many more, covering a wide variety of classic rock and contemporary pop hits.

Funds raised from the beer tent and raffle will go toward Rotary Club of Flushing’s community projects. Past events have raised money for renovating the Flushing Riverview Park Amphitheatre, sponsoring the Interact Club at Flushing High School, providing for annual high school graduate scholarships and funding literacy programs in collaboration with Flushing Community Schools.

The Flushing Rotary Club has invested approximately $260,000 in the Riverview Park Amphitheatre seating project, and collectively over $650,000 in the Flushing community over the past 26 years since its inception in 1992. The annual beer tent and raffle has played an integral role in those fundraising efforts; last year, the event raised $20,000 for Rotary Club projects in the community.

The tent will be located adjacent to the carnival at the south end of Cherry Street, just south of the Riverview Park parking lot and the north side of the carnival.
