FLUSHING — Janice Winkiel, Megan LeCureux and Eddie Dolgan will be seeking re-election to the Flushing Community Schools Board of Education in the Nov. 6 general election.

Winkiel and LeCureux are each seeking regular six-year terms, while Dolgan is looking to fill a partial term that ends in December of 2020. All three incumbents are unopposed on the ballot.

Winkiel has been on the school board for six years, serving as treasurer for two years and president for the past three years. She taught in the district for 33 ½ years at the elementary level before retiring in 2005. She and her husband George have two daughters and five grandchildren, all living in Flushing.

LeCureux was appointed by the school board on Feb. 12 to fill a seat vacated by former Trustee Cindy Gansen. She is a physician’s assistant at McLaren Community Medical Center in Flushing, is married to husband Jason and has three children who attend Flushing Community Schools.

Dolgan, who was elected in 2013, currently serves as the board secretary. He was a police officer with the City of Flushing Police Department for 30 years and was assigned to patrol Flushing Schools for 25 years. He and his wife Gayle live in Flushing.
