Flushing Township seeks to fill trustee position

FLUSHING TWP. — Flushing Township is seeking to fill a Board of Trustees position following Trustee Dan McGrath’s resignation this week. The Township has already started the process of interviewing candidates and is planning to make a selection within 45 days of McGrath’s resignation. The board’s selection is expected to be presented at the next Flushing Township Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 15. — B.G.

Trail of Terror is Oct. 27

FLUSHING — The Flushing Parks and Recreation committee is proud to present the Fifth Annual Trail of Terror on Oct. 27. This haunted trail excursion will run from 7 to 10 p.m., beginning and ending on the Riverview Trail near Bueche’s Food World. Tickets at the gate are $10 and fast passes are $20. — B.G.

Benefit Dinner

FLUSHING —The Flushing Masonic Temple will be hosting a benefit dinner on Nov. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. for Debbie Trask, who was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer. There will be an Italian dinner, 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. The Masonic Temple is located on 349 Seymour Rd. — B.G.

Halloween at the Fire Station

FLUSHING —The Flushing Fire Department will be hosting its annual Halloween Open House at the Flushing Fire Department, 723 East Main St. on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. “Ghosts and Goblins” of all ages are invited to come and enjoy Cider and doughnuts, popcorn, and Halloween treats, along with Fire Station tours. — B.G.

Halloween Bash at Genesee Valley Center

FLINT TWP. — Genesee County 911 will hold a Halloween Trunk or Treat Spooky Trail, Oct. 27 from 12-4 p.m. at the Genesee Valley Center, 3341 S. Linden Rd. The event will take place between Bar Louie and Barnes and Noble. The event is free, safe and will have family fun for all. Also that day at the Genesee Valley Center, the Genesee District Library will be holding its Little Monsters Halloween Bash. There will be trick or treating in the mall at 10 a.m. Cameron Zvara the Magician will have a show at 12 p.m. and there will be the Trunk or Treat previously mentioned in the outdoor village, along with the Spooky Trail until 4 p.m. This day of Halloween events is sponsored by Flint Township, Genesee County 911 and the Genesee District Library. — G.G.
